The Kali Temple of Makrapara is about 17 kilometers from Birpara town. It is situated on a hill in Makrapara tea garden of Alipurduar district, West Bengal near Gomtu, Bhutan (between the international border of India and Bhutan).
Locals and tourists often visits here to offer their prayers to Goddess Kali. The temple is infact one of the most visited places and tourists attractions in Dooars region. On special occasions like Amāvásyā, bhandara (भंडारा) is organized.
Beautiful scenic views of the tea gardens of Makrapara and greenery can be seen from the temple.
The visitors may also visit Buddhist Gumba which is situated right top of the hill on the Bhutanese side.
