Bajrang Punia wins first Gold Medal for India at Asian Games 2018

Great day for India at the Asian Games 2018 as India opened the first day in the Asian Games 2018 with 2 medals. India today won 1 medal in shooting and 1 medal in wrestling. Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar bagged Bronze medal in the 10m air rifle mixed team event.

Bajrang Punia bagged Gold Medal 🥇 in Men’s Freestyle 65KG and ensured India’s first Gold medal at the Asian Games 2018.
Bajrang Punia defeated Japan’s Takatani Daichi by 11-8 in the men’s 65 kg freestyle finals.

Earlier, Bajrang Punia defeated Uzbekistan’s wrestler Sirojiddin by 13-3 on technical superiority and entered quarterfinal and defeated Mongolian wrestler Batmagnai Batchuluun by 10-0 in semifinals of the 65kg Freestyle wrestling.

Earlier today, Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar won bronze medal 🥉 in the Air rifle mixed team event.
Double-Olympic medallist Sushil kumar suffered a shocking defeat in the same event against Bahrain’s Adam Batirov.
