Sikkimese paraglider falls to death in HP

Shimla, 2nd March : A 27-years-old paraglider pilot from Sikkim died falling into reservoir in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh. He has been identified as Ten Tshering Lepcha from Rumtek, Sikkim.

Tshering lost his control over the glider as soon as taking off from Bandla hill on Friday, 28th February. He fell into Govind Sagar reservoir while he was flying from Bandla in Bilaspur.

The Sikkimese paraglider from Rumtek was a part of team from Pune that was present in Bilaspur for an advanced course in paragliding. Himachal Police have registered a case and sent the body for autopsy. The cause of death will be known only after the report comes.

SP Bilaspur Diwakar Sharma said that the rescue team already present there in Govind Sagar lake took out the Sikkim’s paraglider immediately. He was then rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him dead.
