Two wild leopards found dead in Dooars Makrapara

Birpara, 12th March: Two wild leopards was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Dooars Makrapara tea garden. Makrapara is located at the Indo-Bhutan border under Madarihat-Birpara Block in Alipurduar district of West Bengal.

According to the sources, a carcass of a male wild leopard was found at 38 no. section of Makrapara TG on Thursday morning. Soon after 1 hour another carcass of a male wild leopard was found from the same area. The dead leopard were semi adult male of 5-6 years old.

As per the initial investigation, the forest officials doubts that someone might have poisoned the leopards. Forest officials of Dalgaon Range of Jalpaiguri Forest Department have taken the two dead wild leopards to Rehabilitation Center in South Khayarbari for autopsy. After the autopsy, the true cause of death will be revealed.
