Wild leopard trapped in a cage in Haldibari tea garden near Banarhat

Banarhat, Sept 12: An adult wild leopard was caught today in a trap cage setup by the forest department in section No. 35 of the Haldibari Tea Garden area in Banarhat.

According to the sources, the wild animal had been troubling the villagers frequently. After the plantation management was notified regarding the issue, an application was addressed to the officials of the Forest Department in Binnaguri to catch the wild leopard.

Today morning, the workers spotted the wild leopard trapped in one of the cages set up by the forest workers in the tea garden. After receiving the news, Binnaguri Wildlife Squad workers reached the spot and recovered the leopard. The leopard was later safely taken to the Lataguri Nature Supervision Center for medical examination.
